Tally Counter Online — Named Multi-Counter

Count anything, up to eight named counters side by side — laps, pitches, serves, headcounts, stock. Tap anywhere on a card to add, or press a number key; switch a counter to +5 or +10 when you count in bundles. Every counter keeps its own name, colour chip and reset, your counts save automatically in the browser, and a fullscreen big display turns each counter into a giant card for the gym TV. Free, no signup, no app.

One screen, every count you are keeping

A single click-counter is easy; the hard part is keeping several tallies straight at once. That is what this tool is for: each counter has a name you type and a distinct colour-and-shape chip, so "Laps — Group A", "Laps — Group B" and "Fouls" never get mixed up. The whole card is the tap zone — big enough to hit without looking — and a small minus fixes the inevitable double-tap. Counts persist in your browser, so a tally you start before lunch is still there after.

Lap counting for PE and swim practice

Make one counter per group or lane, put the screen where runners pass, and tap the group's card each time they come through — or stand at the line with the keyboard and press 1, 2, 3 as each lane finishes a lap. In fullscreen the counts are legible from the far side of the track, so students can check their own lap count without asking.

Pitch counts and serve tallies

Youth baseball runs on pitch counts. Name a counter per pitcher and tap after every pitch — the running total is always in view, and the count survives a phone lock or an accidental reload. The same pattern tracks volleyball serves, tennis first-serve makes, shots on target, rebounds — any per-player stat you would otherwise scratch onto a clipboard.

Headcounts, events and inventory

Counting people through two doors? One counter per door, steps set to +1. Selling raffle tickets in books of five? Set the step to +5 and tap once per book. Stock takes go faster with +10 for full boxes and +1 for loose items on two separate counters you reconcile at the end. Behaviour tallies work the same way — one counter per class target, a quiet tap each time you spot it.

Hands-free counting with a clicker

Click the counter area once so it has keyboard focus, and the keyboard does the rest: Space or Enter adds to the first counter, number keys 1–8 add to a specific one. A wireless presenter remote that sends Space turns the tool into a physical clicker you can use with your eyes on the field.

Frequently asked questions

Does the tally counter save my counts?

Yes. Counts, names and steps save automatically in your browser as you go, and are still there after a reload or a closed tab. Nothing is uploaded anywhere — there is no account and no signup.

Can I run more than one counter at the same time?

Yes — up to eight side by side, each with its own name, count, +1/+5/+10 step, reset and colour chip. Add and remove counters as you need them; the layout adapts down to a phone screen.

Can I count without looking at the screen?

Yes. Give the counter keyboard focus, then press Space/Enter for the first counter or the number keys 1–8 for a specific counter. A presenter clicker that sends Space works as a remote.

How do I fix a mis-tap or start over?

The small minus on each card subtracts the current step, and RESET returns that one counter to zero without touching the others. On the dashboard version every change also lands in the global undo.
