Privacy — in plain English

The short version: your class list never leaves this browser. The GOGO Scoreboard portal — this website, the tools and the dashboard — has no accounts, no logins and no upload step. Anything you type in stays on the device you typed it on. We built it this way on purpose, because the person keeping score should not have to think about where a child's name ends up.

What stays on your device

Names, teams, scores, timers, dashboard layouts — everything you create in a tool or on the dashboard is stored in your browser's local storage, on that one device. It is not sent to us or to anyone else. Clearing your browser data, or using the tool's own edit/clear buttons, removes it. Switch to a different computer and your saved work does not follow, because it was never uploaded anywhere to follow you.

No accounts, ever

There is nothing to sign up for. You do not create a login, and students never log in either. Where two devices need to talk — pairing the phone as a courtside remote, for example — a short one-time code or QR link connects them for that session. No accounts, no student profiles, no per-student history in the cloud.

First names only

The tools are designed around first names, and that is all you should type. There is no field for a surname, a date of birth, an email address or any other identifying detail — and there is no reason to add one. A first name on a scoreboard or team list is enough to run the activity, and it keeps the data harmless.

Shared links never contain student names

When you share a dashboard layout as a link, any names from your roster and team lists are stripped out and replaced with generic placeholders (Player 1, Player 2…) before the link is made. The structure travels — how many teams, which widgets, the settings — but the people do not. A layout you share with a colleague, or scan from home, can never carry a child's name in it.

Printables are the archival path

If you need a permanent record — final standings, a completed score sheet, results to file — print it. Paper is the safe way to keep results, because it lives in your school's own filing rather than in an online account. Every score sheet and results view here is built to print cleanly. We deliberately do not offer cloud storage of student results, so there is no online record to secure, request or delete.

What we don't do

No ads. No advertising trackers. No selling data — there is no data to sell. The portal does not build profiles of teachers or students. Live-display tiles that connect to a GOGO app match read a public share code you enter; they do not identify you.

The GOGO iPhone app

The optional GOGO iPhone app has its own privacy policy, since an app on a phone works a little differently from a web page. You can read it here: the GOGO app privacy policy. The same principle holds — scores and history stay on your device (with optional iCloud sync you turn on yourself), and there are no ads.

Questions

If anything here is unclear, or your school needs a specific assurance in writing, get in touch — we would rather answer the question than have you guess.
