Cold-calling the same confident students every lesson is the easiest habit to fall into and the hardest to notice. A visible random picker fixes it: the whole class watches the names flick past and stop, so the choice is plainly chance, not favouritism. Because you can turn on Remove Picked, everyone gets a turn before anyone repeats — the "no-repeat" fairness that a hat full of lolly sticks gives you, but faster and on the big screen.

Unlimited names — paste your whole register

Some free pickers cap the list at a handful of names unless you pay. This one does not: tap Edit List and paste an entire class, one name per line. First names are all you need, and — importantly — the list is stored only in this browser on this device. Nothing is uploaded, so a class roster never leaves the room. Clear it or edit it whenever you like.

Frequently asked questions

Is the pick actually random?

Yes — each spin chooses uniformly at random from the names still in the pool, so every entry has the same chance every time. The drumroll and flicker are just for suspense; they do not change the odds.

Can I stop the same name coming up twice?

Turn on Remove Picked and each chosen name leaves the pool until you press Re-Add All. That gives you a fair rotation where everyone is picked once before anyone repeats.

Where is my list stored?

Only in this browser, on this device, using local storage. It is never sent anywhere, so your class list stays private. Editing or clearing the list removes it.
