How to score a quiz night on paper
The flow. Each team writes their 10 answers for the round on an answer sheet. When the round closes, teams swap sheets with the next table to mark (nobody marks their own), you read the answers aloud, and the marked sheets come back to the front. The round score for each team goes into that round's column on the master grid — the running total column is yours to keep, and yours to keep secret.
Points. One point per correct answer is the classic; half points cause arguments, so avoid them. If a round is your double-points round — the usual way to keep trailing teams alive late in the night — circle that round's number in the 2× row and enter the doubled score.
The reveal. Announce full standings freely after the first round or two, then go quiet: from mid-game, read the standings from last place up to first and stop at second place — leaving the leader unnamed until the final reveal keeps every table listening. It's the same cadence our free browser trivia scoreboard plays automatically, with a horn on the winner.
Ties. Agree the tie-breaker before round one: a nearest-number question ("how many keys on a grand piano?") settles any number of tied teams in one go — closest answer takes it.
