Blank League Table & Fixture Sheet (Printable)
Everything a paper league needs on one A4 page: an empty standings table for up to 10 teams — played, won, drawn, lost, goals for and against, goal difference, points — and a 20-row fixture list underneath. Free, no ads, no signup. Pin it to the clubhouse wall.
How to run a paper league
Points: 3 / 1 / 0. The standard football-style system gives 3 points for a win, 1 for a draw, 0 for a loss. It's the default for a reason — rewarding wins over draws keeps teams playing for results — and it works unchanged for five-a-side, netball, hockey, office table-tennis or a board-game league. Agree it (or your variant, like 2/1/0) before round one and write it at the top of the sheet.
Updating the table. After each match, update both teams' rows: +1 to P, the result into W, D or L, the goals into GF (scored) and GA (conceded), then recompute GD (GF − GA) and Pts. Do it in pencil — every cell in the table changes as the season runs. A quick self-check: the whole table's W column must equal its L column, and total GF must equal total GA.
Breaking ties. When teams finish level on points, the usual order is goal difference, then goals scored, then the head-to-head result between the tied teams. Decide the order up front — the one argument every league has is the one you didn't write down.
The fixture list. Fill the fixture rows before the season starts so nobody "forgets" an awkward away match: date, home team, the score box, away team. In a single round-robin every team plays every other team once — that's 45 matches for 10 teams (only the first 20 fit this sheet, so print a second copy for the rest) — and a home-and-away double round-robin doubles it. Generating who plays whom in which round is the fiddly part: the free round-robin fixture generator does it in one click, and you copy the pairings onto this sheet.
When paper stops being fun. A wall chart is unbeatable for the clubhouse, but recomputing GD by hand every week isn't. The free online league table calculator takes your results and keeps the standings sorted — points, goal difference, tiebreaks — while this sheet stays on the wall as the official copy.
